NFCBP I: BUS 2010 Compound Hybrid

BAE Systems, CALSTART, and the SFMTA partnered under the NFCBP to incorporate a smaller fuel cell into a commercially available diesel hybrid bus.  The compund hybrid bus blends energy from the diesel engine and the fuel cell to provide a partial zero-emission bus with improved fuel economy. Hydrogenics provided the fuel cell auxiliary power unit for electric accessories.
